Kan Hwee / M.D.

Dr. Hwee is a board certified plastic surgeon who completed his training at Cleveland Clinic Florida. Prior to his plastic surgery training, he completed General Surgery residency at Oregon Health and Science University where he completed his medical doctorate degree.

Dr. Hwee completed his undergraduate in Civil Engineering at Oregon State University and his Masters of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University. This unique training background gives him an innovative perspective in his approach to plastic surgical problem solving.

The success of his approach is apparent and evidenced by the multitude of awards he received while in training: 2015 John Cassell Best Resident Presentation Award at the Miami Society of Plastic Surgeons Annual Meeting, 2013 Best Resident Paper Award granted at the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons Annual Meeting and the esteemed John Bostwick Award which he received at the 2015 Annual Atlanta Breast Surgery Symposium. He also gained invaluable experience as he was part of a surgical team that provided cleft palate and lip surgery to the underserved in Honduras in 2012.

He is a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons along with other local, regional and national societies. Dr. Hwee consults adults and pediatrics. His specialties include: Reconstruction – breast, trunk, lower extremities, head and neck, mohs; Cosmetic – body contouring, breast, facial aesthetics and veins; Hand – trauma, tendon and nerve repairs, tumors.

When time permits, he enjoys traveling with his family, playing violin and plays a myriad of sports.
