Yoav Barnavon, M.D. is a board certified plastic surgeon who has been practicing in South Florida for 22 years. He is currently on staff at 9 hospitals and is the director of plastic surgery residency training at the Memorial Healthcare System.
Dr. Barnavon received his undergraduate degrees in both chemistry and business administration from the University of Florida. He graduated from McGill University Medical School in 1984. He subsequently underwent general surgery residency training and a surgical oncology research fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He completed his plastic surgery residency training at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston Texas in 1992. During his residency, he trained to perform complex breast and head and neck reconstructions at the MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Barnavon subsequently returned to South Florida and began his private plastic surgery practice. He received board certification by the American Board of plastic surgery in 1994. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has devoted much of his practice to reconstructive microsurgery and resident training.
Dr. Barnavon is a past president of the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery, and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is also a member of many other local, regional and national societies.
